Description
Scale a mountain. You've got this far, you're on the last stretch. Just a bit more to go. Be careful not to fall.

Mountain climbing requires careful coordination and planning. One wrong move, and you could lose your grip. Look around with your mouse, and use your Left and Right mouse buttons, depending on what is most apt for the ledge, to ascend.

How do you know which button to use? For that, you'll need a friend—have them download the PDF linked below, it contains exact instructions for what button to use to approach each ledge. But be warned! It is an imperfect document, the map is strewn across many sections, and some are flipped. You must work together to determine where you are before you can make your next move with confidence.

Challenges

This game additionally fulfills the following challenges for the Kenney Jam 2026:

  1. Single Pack: The only asset pack used for this project was the 1-Bit Pack, aside from the audio.
  2. No Text: All information, outside of the description of the game itself, is communicated using icons from the asset pack, rather than any text. The only text in the entire game is only present on our logo.
  3. Mouse Only: The only controls utilized in this game are mouse movement, left click, and right click (outside of the Escape key to escape pointer lock, which is provided as a convenience rather than for gameplay purposes).
  4. Co-op: The game is intended to be played in a way similar to Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, where two players communicate, one who is playing the game itself and one who is utilizing the reference PDF with the information needed to help the other.
  5. Symmetry: The game features translational symmetry in the world, with many places that look very similar, and mirror symmetry in the PDF, with many of the maps being flipped (which additionally flips the mouse button indicators). The gameplay involves trying to determine where such symmetries are applied in order to decrypt them and get the needed information. Additionally, the input scheme is entirely symmetrical, where one button results in a successful climb and the other results in a fall (but which button that is varies per-platform).
  6. Cross Dimensional: The climbing environment consists of billboarded 2D sprites in a 3D environment.
